An altar is like a table display with many offerings on it. Some of thes offerings are photographs, bread, other foods, flowers, toys, and other symbolic offerings. I think for our display we should have a table with 3 tears and anyone can put a picture of their loved ones that passed away. Also they can write their loved one notes.

“The Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico can be traced back to the indigenous peoples such as the Olmec, Zapotec, Mixtec, Mexican, Aztec, Maya, P'urhépecha, and Totonac. Rituals celebrating the deaths of ancestors have been observed by these civilizations perhaps for as long as 2500–3000 years.

You would put pictures of the loved one that passed and their favorite foods, activities, and their other favorite things on their altar. The altar may include pictures, candy skulls, fresh fruit, salt, candles, marigolds, and other foods.

Salt and water are also essential; they are set to quench the thirst of the souls, tired from their long trip. Water also purifies and cleanses.

We found that they decorate the alter with the five elements; pitchers of water to represent water, candles for fire, punched paper for wind, and food for earth. They buy toys for deceased children. I think people should bring in decorative items like candles and flowers, and people could write letters to loved ones that they have lost and put them by their pictures.
